A little gallery to show the process of lining a particularly lovely 5" gauge LMS Black 5 in full BR lined black. The progress and technique we use is shown below.
After the twin grey guide lines have been painted onto the model with either the beuler wheel or the bow pen, a paintbrush is carefully used to fill in between the guide lines to create the correct thickness line, and a neat surface finish. A slightly thinned down Humbrol lining paint is being used.
It's tricky to pick out the thin white edging line in a photo. We will take better pics tomorrow when the natural light returns. But for now you can just about see that the white line has gone on the tender, and it's progressing nicely.
Then the red lines start to go on.
