Here we have a particularly well executed Likamobile steam car. A really high quality build this one, assembled from the original Kit produced by Modelworks, but by a model engineer with skill and care. The boiler was recently professionally fully re-tubed, which being a fire tube boiler essentially means it's as good as new and of course comes fully certificated.
We've been struck by how easily and smoothly this one runs and operates. You simply turn the key, the burner kicks into life and 7 minutes later you're up at 250Psi and you're off! The water gauge is 4 little coloured light bulbs, and there's a bypass pump lever ergonomically placed under your right hand. (There's an actual gauge glass too for the traditional among us!)
The nicest Likamobile we've ever seen, fully resolved and finished with finesse.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
