Here we have a rather unusual GWR 13xx saddle tank 0-6-0. Another rare beast this one. The model is fitted with an injector, a crosshead pump and a hand pump in the bunker. Lubrication is mechanical, and fitted under the front running board. This little gem has been built to run rather than win any medals, and to that end, she has been run and enjoyed by her previous owner, so the paintwork is slightly chipped and tired here and there. She could do with a general cosmetic tidy up, but mechanically the engine is in good condition. We've a couple of little re-commissioning jobs to do here in the works before she's ready to go, just simple stuff that we would expect to find on the average second hand model that comes to us. But with that in mind she can be given a full fresh 4 year hydraulic boiler certificate and a fresh annual steam test so she is ready to hit the track and play.
We couldn't find a current supplier of the drawings for this pretty little model, and although a friend of ours has another one, it's certainly a pretty rare little thing, and would look excellent shunting a rake of scale wagons in the yard at a Gilling main line rally! Just saying!
