Here we have another one off model. This is a 7 1/4" gauge Hudswell Clarke P Class tank. The original prototype locomotive was delivered in 1926. This 7 1/4" gauge model was originally built in 1976 and for the first few years of its 'original' life was used commercially. She then changed hands in 2007, running for the next three years before being fully stripped down to its last nut and bolt, and rebuilt from ground up. The opportunity was taken at this point to fit a brand new CE stamped steel boiler by John Rex.
The engine is a very free steamer and has the power and traction to be able to do serious passenger hauling should the need take you! There are two large axle pumps for the water, and two very good injectors. The engine is also fitted with a working steam duplex water pump, which runs nicely but is currently not connected to the water circuit. A lot of attention has been given to making this both a good representation of the full size prototype, and at the same time ensuring that it is a capable model, to that end she also has nice additions such as working sanders, steam brakes (as well of course as the usual hand break on both the engine and the tender),.... and even an air brake system fitted to the tender, although again, like the duplex pump the air brakes are not currently connected up. As always the loco comes with a valid hydraulic and steam cert and is ready to play.
