Here we have a nicely made 7 1/4" gauge 3" scale Quarry Hunslet. The subject of a recent top end cosmetic overhaul, so she looks nice and freshly painted. The 3" Hunslets are not quite as big and powerful as the larger Milner 4" Hunslets on 7 1/4" gauge, but they are still a decent size as you can see from the photos, but they are also something that it's possible to lug about from your house to the track without requiring huge trailers and big lifting apparatus!
The boiler is copper and silver soldered, coming with a fresh hydraulic and steam test. Fitted with an injector and an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve. Lubrication is mechanical and on the running board with a large tank. Originally the loco had a full cab, which we have included here as well, complete with handrails and safety valve extensions should you wish to have the loco running in either form.
She comes complete with the driving truck (which we will add some photos of very shortly). Mechanically the loco is still nicely tight. Any wear and tear that is there is minimal and she certainly runs nice and smoothly. Another really attractive model fully sorted and ready to hit the track.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
