Here we have a nicely made 7 1/4" gauge GWR 1366 0-6-0 pannier tank. This one is a brand new and currently un-steamed model.
Built clearly by a skilled model engineer, the machining work on the bottom end is very nicely done, and the general quality of workmanship on the whole model is crisp and of high quality. The boiler is a brand new and professionally made John Ellis silver soldered copper one with superheaters fitted.
There is an injector fitted as well as an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve as well as a hand pump on the footplate. Lubrication is mechanical and fitted on the running board. Everything feels nice and smooth and she runs nicely on air. We can of course fully commission the engine so she's got fresh boiler tests and is ready to hit the track, or she can go fresh and clean if you'd prefer to have the loco on display instead.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
