Here we have a particularly nicely done 5" gauge Sweet Pea. Clearly built by a capable and careful model engineer who has taken a good deal of time to think through how he wanted everything to work. It's been well maintained too, as although it's clearly been run, everything is still nicely tight and crisp with minimal wear and tear in any of the moving components. The boiler too was built by the builder, but it is of a professional standard. It comes of course with fresh hydraulic tests and a fresh steam test so all's well and she's ready to hit the track once again.
Fitted with an injector, an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve as well as a hand pump tucked away under the running board. Lubrication is both mechanical and displacement, so you can chose which you prefer! The mechanical is fed from a nicely made reservoir on the left hand side, and the displacement is fed from a cylinder under the footplate. The displacement splits the feed through two sight feeds in the cab so that you can regulate the supply to each cylinder independently. There's also a rose bud grate currently fitted.
A really good sweet pea that we are confident perform every bit as well as it looks.
