Here we have another twist on the ever popular 5" gauge Sweet Pea design. A competently made model that has developed an aged, crackle patina in the paintwork that actually it wears quite well. It's been disassembled, presumably for a hydraulic test at some point, and as is so often the way it never got reassembled at the time. As you'll no doubt spot in the photos, there are a few small and easy to make plumbing bits and bobs went missing at that point but we'll fix all of that here in the workshop before delivery, so what you're buying is the model fully re-commissioned and ready to run.
The silver soldered copper boiler will come with a fresh hydraulic test, and it can also come with a fresh steam test too. There's a pair of injectors fitted as well as an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course a hand pump in the tender. Mechanical lubrication with a simple reservoir for each cylinder on the running boards. It's a nice Sweet Pea with a decent tender, that we expect to be a fairly straight forward re-build/re-commissioning job here in our workshops.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
