Here we have another example of the ever popular 5" Sweet Pea. This one is dressed quite convincingly as a Kerr Stuart 'Wren' class with the distinctive square box saddle tank. It's nicely done and looks the part,.... and is a nice change from the usual layout.
The boiler is copper, silver soldered as you'd expect, and she comes with history as well as a fresh hydraulic test and fresh annual steam test so she's ready to hit the track and play. Mechanically also the bottom end is pretty good. It's exactly as you'd expect a pretty well built Sweet Pea to be, tight on the rods but with the usual amount of slight play in the valve rod and die block assembly, always the weak point in Hackworth valve geared locos. In the photos there is only a hand pump fitted, but she will leave us with both the axle pump sorted and an injector fitted too. Lubrication is also not fitted yet in the photos but will be mechanical.
