Here we have another nice example of the ever popular Simplex design from Martin Evans. A nice bit of rivet detailing on the tanks of this one and generally crisp machining and finish, let down perhaps slightly by a rather utilitarian brushed paint finish. That said, it doesn't detract too much from the overall look of the thing and certainly doesn't impact it's operation.
The silver soldered copper boiler comes with a fresh hydraulic test as well as a fresh steam test so it's ready to hit the track. Lubrication is mechanical, hidden under the front running board, and water is fed through ab injector, a single ram axle pump as well as the hand pump in the side tank.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
