Here we have a 5" gauge Simplex project. This is an amalgamation of a couple of engines that we've had in the workshop, and we've plonked the bits together to get you well on the way to a complete loco. Years ago the red Simplex came into us as a complete loco, and upon testing we found a weap on the boiler, so we stripped it down for investigation and repair here that we never got round to, with other jobs getting in the way. Somewhere along the way a customer browsing through the workshop in search of a Simplex chassis found it and bought just the chassis from us. This then is another 'air running' chassis that came in a month or two ago and we have taken the opportunity to drop on the boiler, smoke box and body work from our original engine. It's definitely a project loco, but with any luck you'll be able to repair the weap and build a good engine from the kit. It's definitely not complete, with obvious missing bits to include the super heater and running boards,.... but the bulk of the loco is present and what's there appears to have been nicely made.
