Here we have a superb and large 5" gauge Quarry Hunslet, one of a small batch professionally built in 2007 by Alan Green of Manchester. We've had another one of Alan's Hunslets come through a few years ago (link below the photographs), and so we already knew the quality of the engineering and design before we picked this one up. Over the buffers she is about a metre long, (39 1/2"), and 15" wide, so it's significantly larger than the more common Don Young design.
The boiler is silver soldered copper and can of course come as always, fully hydraulically tested and with fresh steam tests so she's ready to hit the track. There is an injector fitted as well as an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and there is a nicely hidden hand pump in the left hand coal bunker. Lubrication is mechanical and fed from the large tank on the left hand running board.
This is a cracking loco, rare and in lovely, well cared for condition and from a well respected designer and builder that should give many years reliable and fun running.

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
