Here we have a really tidy and well presented Polly III locomotive. The boiler is the usual professionally silver soldered copper one from Polly, and comes with full and fresh boiler certs so it's fully tested and ready to play. It was originally delivered as part of the kit in 2004, although the engine it's self doesn't feel like it's been finished or certainly not used for that long.
Lubrication is mechanical and it's fitted with the usual three forms of water supply. Hand pump in the tank, axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the injector.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
