Here we have a very rare beast,...... a 5" gauge LNER K5. As far as we are aware, there are only 2 5" models so far that have been made of a K5, and they are both currently standing in our showroom! The second is part way through a long rebuild here in the works and will therefore be considerably more expensive when it finally rolls out of the works.
Mechanically this one has a little wear and tear in the bottom end, consistent with her not being a new model, but nothing bad enough to warrant immediate attention. Cosmetically too, she's in pretty good condition, with the odd scuff and chip consistent with the locos having been a runner. Finished in 2013, she's on PTFE rings and the boiler is a professional copper silver soldered one from GB boilers. There are two injectors fitted as well as the usual hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is displacement and fed through two regulated sight feeds on the footplate so you can see exactly what is going to each cylinder. As is pretty much always the way from us, she can be given a fresh 4 year hydraulic test and fresh steam test so she's simply ready to hit the track and enjoy.
