Here we have a 5" North British Glenn, 'Glenn Douglas'. We had this model come through our workshops about 5 years ago when it was essentially a brand new model. It doesn't look like it has seen a great deal of running over the intervening years and is still in very tidy mechanical and cosmetic condition.
A stocky and chunky 4-4-0, a Glenn certainly isn't a common model, and it's always nice to have another one come into stock. This one has the usual sliver soldered copper boiler, and will come with a fresh hydraulic test and of course a fresh annual steam test so she's ready to play. Fitted with an injector, an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the ubiquitous hand pump in the tender.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
