Well, you might recognise this one,..... back in again after only a month away in part exchange as the owner found the engine a bit too heavy to manage. Nothing wrong with it of course,..... just decided to go for something a little smaller.
Here we have another example of Martin Evans extremely well proven 5" LNER B1 'Springbok' design. This is a competently made and ready to roll example that has had a recent re-paint to freshen her up a bit! The boiler is a professionally made silver soldered copper one, in good condition, and she is fully in ticket ready to play.
Model engineering wise this is a utilitarian model rather than a model with a great deal of finesse in it. Everything is competently made and the wear and tear isn't too bad,...... certainly she runs nicely and will be very happy flying round your track for many years to come.
She is fitted with an injector, and axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve as well as the obligatory hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and very easy to access on the running boards. All in all an easy engine to run. As long as you aren't a rivet counter then this is potentially a great engine for you to just be able to enjoy driving without having to worry too much about scratching it!
There's a little puff of steam from the left hand drain cock not quite shutting in the film here, but we obviously fixed it after it cooled down.
