Here we have another rare beast. A 5" gauge LMS Stanier Mogul. A really nicely made model with crisp model engineering and a tidy finish. There's no discernable wear and tear in any of the mechanics, and the boiler is clearly a very neatly made silver soldered copper one that can come as always with a fresh twice working pressure hydraulic test as well as a fresh annual steam test so it's all ready to run.
Fitted with a pair of decent sized injectors and a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and as per the prototype on the running boards for easy access. Between the frames of the loco is boxed in around the axles which appears to be in order to add weight for improved grip as well as to shield the axle boxes from ash ingress. It all feels very 'engineered' and promises to be an excellent runner.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
