Here we have a 5" gauge 'Minx' to LBSC's well proven design. Whilst a 'Minx' isn't perhaps the prettiest of all locos, (loosely based upon a Southern Railway C2x), it's certainly a purposeful looking and sturdy machine. This particular model has certainly not been sitting idle on a display plinth, but has rather been a running machine right up until it's owner decided to part exchange it with us for a larger tank engine. Mechanically the engine shows the wear and tear that you'd expect from a used loco, but nothing too excessive. She certainly doesn't need re-bushing or anything serious like that, and is ready, free steaming and fully boiler ticketed to pop back on the track and play.
The boiler is professional looking copper and fully silver soldered one. Lubrication is mechanical, and easy to get at on the running board. Water is fed by a pair of injectors, an axle pump with footplate fitted bypass and of courser the hand pump in the tender.
