Here we have a nice twist on a 5" gauge 'Gert' design produced for Reeves by LBSC and Roy Donaldson back in the 1950s. This model is finished pretty convincingly as an industrial saddle tank and was professionally rebuilt a few years ago by JD Model Engineering. It doesn't appear to have been too heavily used since rebuilt and everything is in good mechanical order.
The boiler is silver soldered copper as usual and can come with a fresh hydraulic test as well as a fresh annual steam test so it's ready to run. Water is fed through two injectors, both currently plumbed to take water from a driving truck so it stays cold, although we can easily modify one or both to take their water from the saddle tank if necessary. Lubrication is mechanical and tucked away under the front running boards.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
