Here we have a particularly lovely 5" gauge LNER B1. This is a significant cut above the usual Martin Evans 'Springbok' the we are all so used to. The basic engine here is built to the Springbok design, but then there's been a great deal of attention paid to getting all the details where they should be by the skilled builder. The backhead is particularly lovely, and has a nicely prototypical feel to it.
The boiler is the usual silver soldered copper, and as always can come with a full hydraulic test as well as fresh steam tests so all's well and she's ready to run. Mechanically too everything is in good condition, and she runs as well as the quality of the model engineering promises. More information to be added very shortly but for now have a good look at the photos and give us a bell if you'd like to know any more.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
