Here we have a particularly neat and well made 5" gauge GWR Pannier tank. 8706. Lots of detail on this one, and the bunker, so often just a square edged attempt, is formed beautifully and well riveted. The paint too is done with skill and attention to detail and the net result is a very tidy and well presented locomotive.
The boiler is of course silver soldered copper, and can be given a full fresh 4 year hydraulic boiler test as well as a fresh annual steam test so that the engine is ready for you to play. Currently although not unsteamed, the model doesn't look or feel like it's seen much action at all. It's been very well looked after by it's previous owner. The motion is still nice and tight and we are confident that it will run very smoothly when we steam her up.
There are two injectors, and a crosshead pump between the frames for your water. Lubrication is displacement with the resevoir under the footplate and a sight feed in the cab. Good model this one, and certainly the best 'Pansy' that we've had through the workshop.
