Here we have a strange little beast! This is A 5” Gauge gas fired ‘De Winton’ Style Vertical-Boiler 0-4-0 Locomotive. The engine it's self is a fairly large bore single cylinder, with a flywheel to generate the momentum, and then a belt drive to wheels! We aren't completely convinced that the belt drive will currently have enough grip on the pulleys to give the engine much power, It certainly looks and feels a little Heath Robinson, but could and should be a lot of fun,.... and certainly a modification to a toothed rubber belt or perhaps a bike chain would solve any potential slippage issues!
There is an injector and a manual hand pump to get the water in. Lubrication is oddly both mechanical and displacement, so it seems that you can pick your own preference there!
There is a large commercial camping gas tank in the red bunker, so re-fueling appears to be as simple as re-fueling a camping stove! An odd little thing, but one that promises to be a lot of fun on your garden railway.
