Here we have a very well on the way, and checked complete kit for a Winson/Modelworks 5″ Gauge BR Britannia. Assembly so far has been done by a very meticulous and experienced model engineer builder of Modelworks kit locomotives, and the project has now sadly stalled due to ill health.
The chassis is very well put together and all looks to be ready to run on air. The boiler is the usual fully silver soldered copper professional one, and comes with all the original paperork and certification.
We've seen a lot of the MW Britannias finished off into lovely models, and there is a huge wealth of information and support out there for people attempting this build, where you can find out exactly how and where to make modifications and alter things to make it work well.
On top of that, if you rely want to make a lovely job of it, we also have the D.Hewson range of fittings and BR standard parts here at The Steam Workshop. So we can supply all the jewellery to make the model look just like the real thing, as well as fully cab kits, tender body laser cut kits, smoke box kits, new CNC chimney machinings. Pretty much everything that you could possibly want to finish the basic Modelworks Britt off to look like an accurate scale model of the real thing.
