Here we have a nice example of the 5" gauge GWR 15XX to the ever popular 'Speedy' design by LBSC. A well built example that has been owned for the last 15 or so years by Ian, one of our own in house model engineers here at Steam Workshop. Ian is a meticulous and skilled model engineer, so there's a full log book of everything he's done to the loco during his ownership, including exactly when it ran and for how long. The silver soldered copper boiler comes with a comprehensive history as well as fresh hydraulic and steam tests so that everything is ready to go.
Lubrication is mechanical, and there is an injector fitted for water, as well as an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass. There's an auxiliary water tank hidden in the bunker, and even a steam brake. A nice, solid loco that is sorted and ready to play.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
