Here we have a 3 1/2" gauge LNER A3,..... yes, you've guessed it,..... it's number 4472 'Flying Scotsman'. This is a Clarkson A3, the 2 cylinder, slightly simplified version, but nontheless attractive for the loss. Nicely made, this is an older model that has been 'resting' in the previous owners hallway for the last few years. We've de-fluffed her though, and we can happily re-comission her so that she is ready to hit the rails again should you wish to have her run.
The boiler is copper silver soldered and again, can be given a full fresh 4 year hydraulic test as well as a fresh annual steam test. There is an axle pump between the frames, and a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and tucked away in the usual spot under the front of the running boards.
