Here we have another little curiosity! It's clearly a 3 1/2" gauge LBSC Virginia,.... but this one is a mixture of metal and wood, and built entirely for display only. It's a really nicely done little thing, but as far as we can tell it's never been a part built actual working model or anything, it's purely been made, to the LBSC drawings, but using wood, aluminium and brass wherever the builder felt like it to make the model.
To be fair, if you are making a model of Virginia, then there's enough really nicely made bits on here for you to use,... the cab, chimney, lamp, tender body, running boards, possibly even the frames that you could steal to finish off your model really nicely, but that said, it would be a shame to break up what is a really nicely made little model. In this instance the nicely detailed 3 1/2" display track is included in the sale, as it's been made and labled up specifically for this model to sit on,..... and the reality is that the model is a bit on the fragile side without it.
