Here we have another rare appearance, this time in the form of a 3 1/2" gauge LBSC 'Ida', built into a rather handsome tender engine. Very crisply made by a clearly skilled model engineer, virtually new and tidy with a professional boiler. We originally sold this one a few years ago, and at that point it was a brand new un-steamed model that we commissioned here for the previous owner before delivery. So we essentially know the full history from the first fire, and although it runs extremely well it appears to have been steamed on only a few occasions.
Fitted with an injector, as well as an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and tucked away under the front running boards. This is still the only 'Ida' we've ever had come through, so it's likely to be something different to everything else running at your club. A cracking little loco that runs as well as it looks.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
