Here we have a nicely made 3 1/2" gauge Hunslet 'Lilla' but with a pannier tank twist! A previous winner of the 3 1/2" NGLEC (the narrow gauge locomotive efficiency competition), and we think this is a particularly successful take on a narrow gauge Hunslet, it looks completely plausible and exactly like the kind of modifications that happened all over the industrial world to keep engines in industrial service. The model is a proven runner and mechanically in crisp and tight condition, with a good boiler, supplied of course fully hydraulically and steam tested so she's ready to play.
There's an injector fitted, as well as a steam driven donkey pump on the running boards. There's also an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the footplate mounted hand pump, so no less than 4 forms of getting water into the boiler! Lubrication is mechanical and fitted under the front running board.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
