Here we have a 3 1/2" gauge Stanier Black 5 to the ever popular 'Doris' design by LBSC,...... with the obvious little twist! Painted in the experimental, and we think extremely attractive apple green livery used by British Rail on 44763 in 1948. We've seen a couple of examples in 5" painted in this livery, but this so far is the only 3 1/2" gauge one. It's also a really nicely detailed model, a cut above on that front your usual Doris.
The silver soldered copper boiler can come with a fresh hydraulic boiler test as well as a fresh steam test. There is an injector fitted as well as an axle pump and of course a hand pump in the tender.
The paintwork is a little scruffy here and there, which hopefully comes across in the photos, and ignore the odd little fitting or loose bit of platework, that will all be addressed in our workshops as we go through the commissioning work to prepare the loco for her new owner.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
