Here we have a rare and rather beautiful 2" scale Aveling and Porter tandem roller. Built by Edwin White to the John Hanning design and drawings. It's an extremely nicely made model with a great deal of prototypical detailing.
The boiler is the usual silver soldered copper set up with eccentric driven water pump and bypass valve. There is plumbing for both the steam and water supply to an injector and a blanked off bush in the barrel for the feed clack, but the builder has evidently chosen not to fit one. Lubrication is mechanical with the usual cylinder block mounted reservoir and there's also a displacement lubricator on the front of the block too for good measure!

We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
