Here we have an 'as new' 1" scale BB1 Fowler Ploughing engine. These are actually a really rare beast! Built by Accucraft for Maxitrak, they've been out of production for some time now and we've not had one in stock for nearly 10 years here at Steam Workshop. They are really superb little things and they run beautifully. Not only is it a true compound, twin speed with all the fully working correct cable drum equipment complete with bevel gear drive and clutch just like the full size, but the fit and finish is really well executed, with some beautifully delicate little features.
The boiler is a professionally made silver soldered copper one, and can come with fresh hydraulic and steam tests. There's a crank shaft water pump with footplate mounted bypass valve, and lubrication is displacement, with the reservoir underneath the running board in place of a toolbox. We've a pair of these engines in stock, one currently un-steamed, the other with very light use and virtually as new too. We're offering them for sale individually, or as a matched pair for a slight multi-buy price saving.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
