Here we have a 5" gauge BR Western region 15XX to the well respected 'Speedy' design. This model is very well on the way mechanically, with most of the fittings and plumbing present as well. The general level of detailing is high, with a nicely formed bunker, and the general quality of the model engineering is a little more scruffy here and there than perhaps this level of detailing would imply, but nothing a little time spent linishing, sanding and finishing wouldn't fix.
The boiler is copper, fully flanged and stayed up and at the point where final silver soldering together needs to be done. The backhead requires bushes to be made here and there too. The boiler is essentially the main hurdle that seems to be left to overcome on this project, but there's a lovely engine waiting to emerge if you've got the time to put into getting it there.
