Here we have a 3 1/2" gauge LMS Stanier Black 5, built to the 'Doris' design by LBSC. A slightly cosmetically scruffy loco, but mechanically all good to go! The boiler is the usual silver soldered copper, and comes fully hydraulically tested to twice working pressure, as do all the fittings. The model will also come with a fresh steam test to ensure that all's well and she's ready to run.
Fitted with an injector, an axle pump and footplate mounted bypass valve, as well as a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and tucked under the front running board in the usual place for a Doris.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
