Here we have a particularly nicely done 5" gauge Sweet Pea. The loco came to us looking a little cosmetically scruffy, but mechanically nice and tight. The builder has made a beautifully shaped, Manning Wardle esque saddle tank, lowered the footplate with the hand rails on the back to give a more 'gas work's loco feel to the model and generally just included a level of finesse in the construction a cut above the average Sweet Pea. We decided the engine was worth a face lift, so most of it has been back to bare metal, bead blasted, etch primed and then painted with two pack in a colour that we thought would work on the loco. So cosmetically it's fresh and new. Mechanically there's virtually no slop in the motion or axle boxes, and the boiler, being very neatly made passed it's hydraulic test with no issues. Currently there is an axle pimp fitted with footplate mounted bypass valve and there is a hand pump tucked neatly away under the footplate that actuates the second pump between the frames. There is a feed available for an injector to be fitted as well if required. Lubrication is mechanical. She comes freshly tested and ready to play. A really nicely executed and slightly different take on the Sweet Pea design.
Lastly,..... you'll notice the two little holes in the cab sides where the builder had the works plate fitted. We'll include new brass name plates with the name of your choice to finish it off properly.

As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
