Here we have a good example of the LNER O1 to the 'Nigel Gresley' design by Martin Evans. A crisply made and solidly machined model with very little wear and tear. Neatly made silver soldered copper boiler, fully ticketed and ready to play.
Fitted as usual with an injector, an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and easy to access on the running board.
A strong loco, well designed by Martin Evans and well built by the model engineer.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
