Here we have a rather beautifully made and finished, cup winning 5" Liverpool & Manchester Railway 'Lion'. Complete with her 1976 LBSC Memorial trophy awarded to the builder R S Ekins, the loco hasn't seen a great deal of running and indeed appears to have been a well polished mantelpiece model for a great deal of it's life so far. That said, we've steam tested and already gone through the odd commissioning job and she runs beautifully.
The silver soldered copper boiler is of course freshly shell tested to twice working pressure, and the loco has a fresh annual steam test as well. More details to be added shortly but for now have a look at the photos to give yourself the general idea!
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
