Here we have another tidy example of the ever popular 5" gauge 'Springbok' LNER B1 design by Martin Evans. A brand new and un-fired example that is essentially complete, just requiring a few finishing bits and bobs to get it over that final hurdle. The photos should give you the general idea of what's to do, but it's mostly just fittings on the backhead and a little bit of plumbing. It was a completed engine awaiting it's steam test, but was stripped for a hydraulic shell test on the boiler, which was passed, but the loco never quite made it back together and a few of the little fittings and plumbing went astray in the process.
The chassis runs nicely on air and is well machined, and so for what should hopefully be no more than a weekend's work there's a decent B1 to be had here for a fair saving over the fully sorted loco.
