Here we have another well made example of Martin Evans' ever popular LNER B1 'Springbok'. This time number 1011 'Waterbuck' in a very neatly done and crisp application of LNER Apple green livery. A very crisp and tidy example, the machining is nicely tidy and the valve gear all tight, there are a few nice touches of detail like the tender tool boxes and the spring hangers on the tender.
Fitted with a pair of injectors and a hand pump in the tender, lubrication is displacement with a controllable sight feed in the cab so you can see exactly how much oil you're getting to the cylinders. The boiler is silver soldered copper and of course, as with all our finished models comes fully tested and certificated so you're ready to just hit the track and play.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
