Here we have a well executed 3 1/2″ gauge LMS Stanier class 4 tank, to the Martin Evans’ confusingly entitled ‘Jubilee’ design. Well built, with a little bit of extra attention to detail that the model engineering drawings don’t describe. The tank rivets are done to photographs of the real ones rather than following Martin Evans’ directions which always for us makes a model a little bit nicer. Friends who have seen the loco run before she came to us tell us that she's a cracking performer too and runs very nicely.
All the usual bits and bobs that you’d like are there. There is an injector, an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the ubiquitous hand pump hidden in the tank. Lubrication is mechanical and under the front running board. The boiler is a nicely done silver soldered copper job, and the model has of course a full hydraulic boiler certificate and an annual steam test ready to hit the track and play.
