Here we have a pretty little 3 1/2" gauge NER Q5 class 0-8-0. Built to LBSC's well respected 'Netta' design, a very capable locomotive that certainly punches above it's weight in terms of performance.
A well built example here. Three methods of getting water into the boiler, there is an injector, footplate mounted bypass valve for the axle pumps and a hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and under the front running boards,.... this one was light enough for us to easily photograph the underside to give you a good look at the valve gear and between the frames. Again, nice and tidy in there with only the usual wear and tear expected from a running but well looked after model.
The boiler is the usual copper silver soldered job, and looks nice and competently done. As with the vast majority of our locos, she can leave fully checked and ready to play, having had a fresh hydraulic boiler shell test (to twice working pressure) and a fresh annual steam test so she's ready to enjoy.
