Here we have only our second 3 1/2" gauge Stanier class 4 tank, to the well proven and ever popular Martin Evans 'Jubilee' design. Not an uncommon design, due to their manageable size and useful performance, and this one comes to us ready to play.
It's obviously not a new build, and the paintwork on the boiler is a little on the 'textured' side. That said, mechanically it's well machined and constructed, and the overall synopsis is that it's a good, solid and usable loco. There are two injectors, which is unusual on a 3 1/2" model, also an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass, and the ubiquitous emergency hand pump in the tank. She's got steam brakes too, as well as the hand brake, and the draincocks are operated from the footplate. Lubrication is the usual mechanical job under the front footplate.
This is essentially a nicely made loco, and represents a relatively inexpensive route to owning a well proven and handsome prototypical 3 1/2" gauge Stanier class 4 tank.
