Here we have a really very nicely made and finished 3 1/2" LMS Stanier Duchess. This is a brand new build and as yet unsteamed. She is a full 4 cylinder, and made very crisply, with a high level of model engineering competence. The paintwork and finishing is also particularly well done, with a level of rivet detail not usually found on 3 1/2" models. The overall look is very impressive.
She is most definitely built as a runner though. There is a decent size mechanical lubricator under the running board, and water is fed by a twin axle pump with footplate mounted bypass, as well as an injector, and a tender hand pump. There's a steam brake as well as the tender hand brake, and generally the whole thing looks like it ought to just work, with only the minor commissioning that a decent model should need. We will of course gladly make sure its all steam tested, sorted and ready to go as a runner should you with to steam it rather than just look at it being all pretty above your fireplace!
