Currently in the workshop is this 5" Midland railway 4-4-0 compound. It's based, as is often the way, upon the ubiquitous Maid of Kent design, and to that end is a simple 2 cylinder model rather than a true compound.
As you can see, it was in need of a little paintwork TLC! The tender has fared pretty well, but the locomotive it's self looks rather sorry for it's self. It is in generally good condition, and is mechanically sound with a solid boiler. It's definitely getting a new boiler cladding wrapper, which being made from aluminium has pitted quite badly where it meets the smokebox, and we will probably make new PTFE rings while we are at it, to make sure it's fresh and ready to play.
The photographs below show it as it was before we started stripping it down. The plan is to turn it around in plain LMS black livery (just cos we like it), but if you are interested, we could finish it off to your specification. It will hopefully be all done and ready to go out by the end of the month.
